My Mate Bob, where do you start, a big man with an even bigger personality, a real Diamond geezer, always there to help any one of us at anytime, a true friend. A couple of stories! We never did get the Scottish deep fried mars bar he was always going on about, and we actually stayed in Stone Haven the birth place of it. Well at least he got to see the actual Fish n Chip shop, shame we forgot to go back for one the next day, probably because of the excitement, we were picking up his boat. One time losing sight of land 6 miles out at sea in the fog, he forgot to put the new navigation lights on he'd installed and been itching to use in anger. After getting back home, he was ecstatic at using the G P S, we could have ended up anywhere he said, without that, typically laughing his butt off....and still we never caught any fish! We could go on and on listening to his stories, and the banter he always had plenty of that, had our group in stitches all the time. Bob said time and time again laughing, about how he would probably end up dribbling and peeing himself in a care home, but he was positive, saying I've told Sharon to just leave me there I'll be fine, I'll be meeting new friends every day! Ha ha what a sense of humour, such a character. Unfortunately Bob's physical presence will sadly no longer be with us, but he will be in our thoughts, he'll not be forgotten by any of us here at 107 that's for sure.
